Ulrika and Lukasz Larsson Warzecha, together with the European Space Agency (ESA), are thrilled to announce the upcoming photography exhibition, 'Stories Trapped in Ice —Polar Observations', set to open at Sören Kirkegaards Square - Black Diamond, Copenhagen, on September 3 2024. This spectacular exhibition is a visual journey through the latest polar research and climate change monitoring programs; it features award-winning photography and spectacular satellite imagery. It's a unique opportunity for the public, science enthusiasts, and scientists to engage with and learn about cutting-edge research and efforts to understand climate change.

The open-air exhibition is admission free.

COPENHAGEN, August 29, 2024 – Ulrika and Lukasz Larsson Warzecha, together with the European Space Agency (ESA) are thrilled to announce the upcoming photography exhibition, 'Stories Trapped in Ice —Polar Observations', set to open at Sören Kirkegaards Square - Black Diamond, Copenhagen on September 3 2024. This spectacular exhibition is a visual journey through the latest polar research and climate change monitoring programs; it features award-winning photography and spectacular satellite imagery. It's a unique opportunity for the public, science enthusiasts, and scientists to engage with and learn about cutting-edge research and efforts to understand climate change.
'Stories Trapped in Ice—Polar Observations', on 32 two-and-a-half-meter high panels plus a small cinema, offers viewers a glimpse into scientific efforts to understand and monitor our planet's polar regions. It includes groundbreaking field and lab work by leading European institutions and the latest satellite images and data from Copernicus Sentinel and Cryosat, two of the European Space Agency's most ambitious and significant Earth observation programs.
"I'm proud to be able to show these images in Copenhagen, an important academic centre for polar and climate research, in particular in connection with the 2024 EU Polar Science Week," says Lukasz Larsson Warzecha, the photographer.
A heartfelt thank you to the Royal Danish Library and BLOX for graciously hosting the exhibition. Their support has been invaluable in bringing this important event to the public. We also thank Copenhagen City Council and DTU—Technical University of Denmark for their generous assistance in making this exhibition a reality.
